A parent is always ecstatic when their child announces that they are an entrepreneur. So, you can only imagine my jubilation when my twenty year old daughter told me that she was entering the world of entrepreneurship and starting her own jewelry line; Bossed Up Jewelry.
As with any entrepreneur, I’m always curious as to how they started their chosen company. Posing the same question to my daughter, she told me the name was chosen as a sort of vindication for a boyfriend she had broken up with who told her, “This relationship didn’t work out because you always claim your’re busy.” Quick witted like her mother, she snickered and told him, “I stay Bossed Up,” hence the name. All I could say was, “I absolutely love it!”
Bossed Up Jewelry is a customized semi-precious stone jewelry line. Each customized piece is created with the individual in mind. Before hand-crafting any necklace or bracelet, she arranges a one-on-one consultation with the man or woman in order to ask personal questions to solicit their strengths and what they would like to achieve or work on personally and/or professionally. Knowing that semi-precious stones exude energy to uplift and sustain, within the first day, she sold she had over fifty orders.
When a brand is good, word spreads and it spreads fast. And word spread clear across the world. Fashion Designer Tiffany McCall based out of Paris, France contacted my daughter and I and asked if Bossed Up Jewelery would create a specially designed necklace to be worn on the red carpet and during a fashion show at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. What an honor! To see my child’s logo on a step-and-repeat and to see the video of the necklace adorning a model as she strutted down the runway, made us both super proud. #MOMchronicles
